Last year there were sixty-four entries in this race when it was held in February. Nicholas Luke, the defending champion, took overall honors in 17:44, while Adilene Garcia-Molina was the top female finisher in 22:05. Since that was the first year the race was held on a new course at Fuquay-Varina High School, both performances are the existing course records.
The event is being put on by the Band Boosters of Fuquay-Varina High to raise funds for the school band. The start and finish lines are on the school’s track. Click here to download a course map.
The entry fee is $35, which includes a t-shirt if the registration is received by March 29. After March 29th, the fee is $40, and shirts will be given out "as available." Additional shirts can be ordered for $20 each up to and including March 29th.
Pre-registered entrants can pick up their race packets and late entrants can register at the High School on race day beginning at 7:45 am.
Awards will be given to the best dressed male and female, best participant exhibiting school spirit, the most musical runner, and the best band parent (embarrass your child).
