Last year Rita Beard led the field of 134 women over the Dix Hill course. Carol Rowe was the top master, finishing in 19:22.
Several changes have been instituted this year. In addition to the name change, the Recreational 5K has been dropped. Instead there will be a mile run/walk for both sexes. And while, the course will again be on the campus of Dix Hill, it will be a new course. The start/finish area will still be located at the Haywood Building at 805 Ruggles Drive.
