This is a new event for the Triangle area hosted by the Thorne to Rose Foundation.
The Thorne to Rose Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that focuses on bringing awareness and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health illness in black and brown communities. They provide resources to therapists to assist them in becoming culturally competent in serving BIPOC communities through grants and continued education courses. For more information on the work that they do, go to Thorne to Rose – Replenishing Your Mental Health.
Only the those who enter as Runners will be included in the official results and be eligible for awards. It really doesn’t matter whether you walk or run in the event. If you wish to get an official time, when you come to the question on the entry form, "Do you plan to RUN in this 5K DASH?", enter "YES" if you would like an official time and be eligible for awards or "NO" if you do not care about being timed. However, all finishers will be able to see their finish times on a digital clock at the finish line.
The entry fee is $20 increasing to $30 after April 15. The fee includes finisher medals to all finishers (timed or not timed), branded drawstring totes, and water tumbler/bottle. Foundation T-shirts are available for purchase for $10.
Preregistered entrants can pick up their packets and late entries can register at a pre-race packet pickup on Thursday, May 12, from 5:30-7:30 pm at Greennway Beer and Wine located at 519 South Main Street in Rolesville OR
on race day at the race site beginning at 7:30 am.
Awards will be given to the first three male finishers overall, to the first three female finishers overall, and to the top finishers in each of the following age groups (both sexes); 12-14, 15-18, 19-30, 31-50 and 51 and over.
