Run or walk in honor of our dedicated Military Personnel & Veterans. Deck yourself out in a patriotic costume and show off your American spirit! Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed! Remember to register early, and we welcome all sponsors. Let's get running!
Nick Willer and Zach Willer of Mt Holly along with Henry Lyon of Williamsport (PA) and Theodore Sielatycki of Cary finished in a four-way tie for first place in 17:02.  Audrey Crowder won the women’s title with a 20:08 effort.  Marco Evans set the course record of 16:33 in 2022. Catherine Seaton holds the women’s event record of 19:15 which she set in 2017.
We are thrilled to announce that, for the second year in a row, we will be donating all profits directly to The Move for Jenn Foundation. This foundation offers grants in the form of activewear prosthetics to individuals who have lost a limb to sarcoma or other affiliated diseases. Since these sports prosthetics are not considered medically necessary by most insurance companies, this foundation acts as a bridge, enabling amputees to return to the physical activities they enjoyed prior to amputation. We are proud to support such a noble (and NC local!) cause and hope that this initiative will make a positive difference in someone’s life.
The trail at Wake Med Soccer Park has a running surface with grass and gravel and follows a partially shaded trail through a wooded area. A water station will be at the halfway point. The 1-Mile Fun Run starts at 8:00am and the 5k starts at 8:30am. This is a sanctioned USA Track & Field event with chip timing provided. See map here.
All runners are welcome, amputees race free! 5k registration is $35. Teams of four or more get a $5 discount per runner. 1-Mile Fun Run registration is $20. T-shirts are included in registration fee.  While shirts were originally guaranteed for registrations before June 5th, as of today (June 24th), we still have all sizes still available. A late fee of $5 applies for any registrations after 6/22/24.
Medals will be awarded in the 5k to the top 3 males overall, top 3 females overall and top 3 amputees as well as to the top finishers, both male and female, in the following age categories: 11-under,12-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-over.
