In its debut in 2018, over 100 entered this event. Karl Mader ran 18:48 to lead all finishers. While Melissa Chiti’s 25:13 was the fastest of the women’s field.  Since last year was the first year this race had been run, both performances are the course records.

This event will be run on the trails at Research Triangle Park starting and finishing in the Alexandria Innovations Parking Lot.  The Lot is located at 7010 Kit Creek Road in Morrisville.

The race will benefit the Projects for Hope, a missions-based nonprofit organization, whose goal is to serve children within impoverished schools in other parts of the world. Their aim is to complete much needed sustainable, infrastructural and revenue generating school building projects. Thereby giving the schools and its students a more positive and better-equipped learning environment. Entrants have a choice of entering as a competitive or recreational runner. Competitive entrants will receive an official time and be eligible for awards. Recreational entrants will not receive official times, but can either time themselves or see their times on the digital clock at the finish line.

The entry fees are $25, up to and including, July 20, and $30 thereafter up to and including race day.  

Gift cards to Fleet Feet will be given to first three males and to the first three females in the amounts of $50 for first place, $40 for second place, and $30 for third.
