In Note in the Pockets' Socks and Undie 5k Rundie debut last year, 100 runners completed the 5K run on the Dorothea Dix course in Raleigh. Sean Sewell lead all finishers in 21:14, while Joanne Sullivan won the women’s title in 27:14.
The race starts and finishes at the Gymnasium on Dix Hill. The address for your GPS is 809 Ruggles Drive. The course is the same one used for the Run for the Roses and the Celebration 5K. To view a map of the course, click

The 5K starts at 9 am, and the ½ mile fun run for children ages 12 and under begins at 8:30 am.
Entrants in the 5K have a choice of entering as a competitive or recreational runner. Competitive entrants will receive an official time and be eligible for awards. Recreational entrants will not receive official times, but can either time themselves or see their times on the digital clock at the finish line.
The entry fee is the same for both the competitive and recreational entrants - $30, up to and including February 25, and $35 thereafter, up to and including race day. Entrants ages 17 and under are $5 less. The entry fee for the ½ mile is $10. Parents can run with their children for free.
In the 5K, awards will be presented to the first male overall, to the first female overall, and to the first three finishers in each of the following age divisions (both sexes): 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-over.
Participants in the 5K are encouraged to form teams for the event. To apply for a team discount, contact Melinda Walker at melinda@noteinthepocket.org.
The race benefits Note in the Pocket, a local non-profit that provides clothing to the impoverished and homeless in Wake County. Donations of new bags of socks and underwear will be collected at the race. Although these items are not required, they will be greatly appreciated.
