In 2019 a crowd of over 430 runners and walkers turned out for this event in North Raleigh.  Noah Graham’s 16:07 was the best of the day breaking the course record of 16:19 set by Evan Darm in 2017.  Erin Taylor was the fastest female in the field, finishing in 18:35.  Taylor also holds the women’s new course record of 18:16 which she ran in 2017.

Once again the race will start and finish at Trinity Academy of Raleigh at 10224 Baileywick Road in North Raleigh and will be run on an out-and-back course through the picturesque Wildwood Green golf community.

The morning begins with packet pickup and race day registration starting at 7 am.  The start of the 5K will be at 9 am followed by the mile at 10:00 am and the Kid’s Dash (for 6 years and younger) at 10:20 am.

Entrants in the 5K have a choice of entering as a competitive or recreational runner. Competitive entrants will receive an official time, be eligible for awards, and will receive Grand Prix points. Recreational entrants will not receive official times, but can either time themselves or see their times on the digital clock at the finish line.

The entry fees are $25 for the 5K if received on or before April 12th, $30 from April 13th to April 24th and $35 on race day.  For the 1-mile run, the entry fees are $15 (on or before April 12th) and $20 after April 12th up to and including race day. The fee for the Kid’s Dash is $5 with no late fees.

A short sleeve shirt is included with the entry fee in each of the 3 races (5K, One Mile and Kids Dash) if registered on or before April 12th.  After this date, we will do our best to provide all entries a shirt, but cannot guarantee it.
In the 5K, all competitive finishers will receive an official time.  No official times will be taken for those signing up for the mile, but all finishers will be able to see their finishing times on a digital clock at the finish line.

In the 5K, awards will be presented to the top three males overall, to the top three females overall, to the top three master finishers of each sex, and to the top three finishers in each of the following age divisions: (both sexes) 12-under, 13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74,75-79 and 80-over.

Pre-race day packet pickup and in person registration will be held twice before race day.  The first opportunity will be at Inside Out Sports in Cary (2002 Grisdale Lane) onThursday, April 23, from noon to 6 pm.  The second opportunity will be on Friday, April 24th at Trinity Academy located at 10224 Baileywick Road in North Raleigh from 1-6 pm.  Race Day registration will begin at 7 am on race day and also pre-registered entrants may pick up their packets beginning at that time.
