This will be a new race for the Triangle area put on by the good folks at Safe Families to raise funds for their organization.  For more information on the fine work they do, go to Home - Safe Families for Children (safe-families.org)

The 5K will begin at 9 am and will be run on the trails in Bond Park located at 801 High House Road in Cary.  The Kid's Santa's Sprint Fun Run will begin at 10:30.  Click here to download a course map.

Entrants in the 5K have the option of participating as a timed finisher or non-timed. Here is the difference. 

Those who register as a timed entrant will receive an official time at the end of the race and will be eligible for awards.  Those who register not to be timed will not receive an official time or be considered for any of the postrace awards.  However, all finishers will be able to see their finish times on a digital clock at the finish line or can time themselves.

The entry fees are the same for the timed and untimed entrants - $30 until November 11, then increasing to $35 until 12/9.  On race day the fee will be $40.

For the Kid's Santa's Sprint fun run, which is untimed, the fees will be $15 until November 11, then increasing to $20 until 12/9.  On race day the fee will be $25.

The fees include a t-shirt, guaranteed To all who register by November 20.  After that date, it will be “as available.”

In the 5K, awards will be given to the top three male finishers, to the top three female finishers, and to the top three male and female master (ages 40 and over) finishers.
