Overview

In 2018, over 70 runners and walkers signed up to participate in this event.  Omar Wiggan broke the event record winning the race in 19:10. Jhovanna Salmeon was the top female finisher with a 24:28 effort.  The women’s event record is held by Mary Bloemeke of 22:36 which she ran in 2017.

Once again the race will be held at the WakeMed Soccer Park beginning at 9 am.

The event is being put on by the International Development Futbol, a soccer league in Cary. Inter Development Fútbol (IDF) is a youth soccer development and education club based in Cary, NC, that focuses on player development, incorporating life skills and leadership development through soccer training.   The club is represented by 20 countries among 70 plus players and families and IDF leverages this diversity, along with the organization’s 501(c)(3) status, in its extensive fundraising efforts. The parent-driven IDF Fundraising Committee manages these efforts.  The Committee brainstorms, plans, and executes fund-raising strategies and activities for the benefit of ALL IDF age groups; and tracks, directs, and approves the use of the acquired funds based on the Fundraising prioritized list/goals from IDF. Every dollar raised directly benefits the soccer development and leadership growth of each male or female player enrolled in the IDF Program.

The 5K entry fee is $25, and for the Kid’s Dash, the fee is $10.  On race day, the 5K fee is $30, and the Kid’s Dash fee is $12.  The fees do not include a shirt, but one can order a shirt, if registering before May 12, for an additional $10.

Pre-registered runners can pick up their packets and late entrants can register at Omega Sports located at 3025 Market Center Drive in Morrisville on Saturday, June 8 between 5-7 pm.
