This is the second event in a series of 5K and 10K races put on by REI in Cary.  The event will be held at the Cary entrance to Umstead State Park.  The first race in the Series as held on May 31.

Over 100 people entered the event in May.  Alex Dolwick (17:53) and Tiayonna Blackmon (20:58) were the top runners in the 5K.  Baily Autry (37:58) was the only runner to break 40 minutes in the 10K.  Kaitlyn Davis (48:21) was the first female to finish in the 10K.

The entry fee for either race is just $15 and includes each runner receiving an official time and refreshments afterwards.  Custom glassware will be given the first three male and female finishers in each race.

Pre-registered runners can pick up their packets and late entrants can register on Friday evening, September 12, between 5-7 pm at the Cary REI store located at 1751 Walnut Street in Cary OR on race day at the Umstead Park beginning at 7:00 am.
