Overview

The 1st Annual Harriet B. Webster Student Scholarship 5K, “MyRun for Myron”, Sat., Apr. 4, 2015, 9 AM on the historic Dorothea Dix Campus (Dix Hill), Raleigh, NC benefits scholarships for WCPSS graduating seniors who serve their communities through their leadership,
scholarship and service.  

MyRun for Myron honors Myron Burney, a former Board member who tragically died in an automobile accident at age 38. Mr. Burney, earned a bachelor’s degree from Morehouse, a graduate degree from NC State, worked as an ECSU administrator, chaired the Board’s Fund Development Committee and served as an adviser for the organization’s signature Student Ambassador Leadership Program. Myron dedicated his life to helping young students maximize their potential and achieve their goals. 

The Harriet B. Webster Task Force for Student Success, Inc., a small, local 501(c)3 organization, collaborates with schools, community agencies, faith communities, business partners and parents to improve the academic, social, physical and psychological health of WCPSS students, especially at the middle and high school levels.

Race Schedule & Location: Dorothea Dix Campus (Dix Hill)  Raleigh, NC, Sat., April 4, 2015
7:30 AM - Race Day Registration Opens – Pre-registered entrants can pick up their packets and late entries can register at Haywood Gym located @ 803 Ruggles Drive.
9:00 AM - Start of the 5K
10:00 AM - Start of the 50 yd Children’s Dash for ages 10 and under - (no t-shirt, no packet)
To receive a T-shirt, registration must be received by March 22, 2015.  However, those who register after that date will have the opportunity to have a shirt ordered for them.

AWARDS: - 5K awards to the top male overall & to the top female overall and to the first finisher in each of the following age groups (both sexes): 12-under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-over.  No double awards.  Additionally all finishers ages 12 and under will receive a finisher award.

OTHER: The event will be held rain or shine. No refunds, transfers or exchanges.5K entrants have the option of getting an official finish time or not being timed. MyRun for Myron will utilize Champion Chip timing by Young & Associates.
