A record field of over 140 runners and walkers participated in this run last year.  Not only was Claudia Garcia the first women overall, but she was also the first finisher overall.  Her winning time was 18:52 was a new course record.  Alex Pinott set the men’s course record of 19:40 in 2012.

The races start and finish at the Gray’s Creek Elementary School in Hope Mills located at 2964 School Road.

The 5K begins at 9 am followed by the start of the mile when the last person in the 5K finishes.

The entry fees are $25 or the 5K and $15 for the mile,  After November 1, the 5K fees increases to $30.  The fee includes a t-shirt, guaranteed to all those registered by November 7.  Finishers in both races will also receive a finisher’s medal.

In the 5K, awards will be presented to the first three male finishers, to the first three female finishers, and to the top three finishers in each of the following age groups (both sexes): 9-under, 10-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 and 60-over.

Race packets can be picked up and late entries can register on Friday, November 14, from 5-7 pm at the school or on race day morning beginning at 7 am.
