This year's event will once again feature a 5K and 1 mile Fun Run (the Dash), but has been expanded to include a back-to-school carnival-type event with inflatables, bubble soccer and much more (the Bash).
Last year over 250 runners and walkers signed up for the inaugural event. Jase Tischer was the overall winner in 19:06, while Sarah Perkins finished as the top female in 21:25. Since last year was the first year this race had been run, both are the course records.
This event is open to the public. The money that GRACE hopes to raise through their efforts will benefit the various community service projects that the school undertakes throughout its school year. Each year the GRACE Executive Leadership Team designates the recipients of the event proceeds. Last year's event raised $7,500 that was distributed to Build the Village, Hope Connection, New Life Camp, Thrift 2 Gift, Royal Family Kids Camp, and Stop Hunger Now.
The 5K starts at 8:00 am, and the mile begins at 9:00 am.

Entrants in the 5K can register either as a competitive or recreational entry. Competitive entrants will be issued a chip, will receive an official time, and be eligible for awards. Recreational entrants will not receive an official time, but they will be able to see their finishing times on a digital clock at the finish line.
The 5K entry fees are the same for both the competitive and recreational runners and includes an event t-shirt and entry to the bash - $30. The fee increases to $35 on race day.

Following the two races, there will be a Back-To-School Bash consisting of carnival games and field activities including Knockerball, Action Archery, a giant bounce house, giant slide, dunk tank, carnival games, food trucks and more.
