In its debut last year, over 100 runners and walkers participated in the event. Taqufik Zerrad (17:23) and Patricia Mintz (22:22) were the overall winners. The race is managed by Futures for Kids which bridges the gap between the hopes and dreams of our children and the workforce development needs of our communities.

The race will start and finish at the RTP Foundation, located at 12 Davis Drive.

The entry fee is $20 up to and including October 20th. After that date, the fee is $25 up to and including race day. Participants can register either as individuals or part of a team. Entrants have a choice of entering as a competitive or recreational entrant.

Here is the difference: Competitive runners will receive an official time and be eligible for awards. Recreational entrants will not be timed and will not qualify for awards. However, there will be a digital clock at the finsh line where all participants can see their finishing times.

Awards will be given to the first male overall, to the first female overall, and to the top finishers in each of the following age groups (both sexes): 12-under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60-over.
