Overview

The Epsom Community Classic Race is run on a 3.5-mile loop with the start and finish line at the Epsom Fire Department – 8120 NC Highway South in Henderson.

The event was created by New Bethel Baptist Church to raise money for missionaries in the US and overseas.

The event debuted in 2020, despite the year's COVID challenges.  Last year, there were 42 entries led by James Piper in 24:43.  Allison Dease, who has won the women’s title in 2020, 2021 and 2022, made it four in row finishing in 25:18, breaking her own course record by 2 seconds.  Benjamin Kassel hold’s the men’s course record of 19:42, which he set in 2020.

Entrants can enter as competitive or recreational runners. Competitive entrants will receive an official time and will be eligible for awards. Recreational entrants will not receive official times but may time themselves or see their times on the digital clock at the finish line.

On race day preregistered entrants can pick up their packets and late registrants can sign up beginning at 8 am. Race day registration will close at 8:45. The race begins at 9 am.

The entry fees are $25 up to and including October 4th, and $30 on race day.  The fee does not include a t-shirt, but one can order one if registered NLT September 18th for $10.

Awards will be presented to the first three male finishers overall, to the first three female finishers overall and to the top three finishers in each of the following age groups (both sexes): 11-under, 12-19, 20-29, 30-39,40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70-over.
