In its second running last year over 100 runners and walkers came out for this event which is run on a traffic-free course at Corinth-Holder High School in Wendell and directed by Matthew Loeffler, the high school’s cross-country coach.
 
Proceeds from the event will be used to support the school’s cross-country teams and their summer camps.
 
The event, which begins at 8:30, is a double-loop course around the school located at 6875 Applewhite Road in Wendell.
 
Seth Roy was defended the title he had won in 2023 with a course-record 16:20. Lilly Cottle led the women with a 22:22 performance.  Mandi Pollard holds the women's course record of 20:15 set in 2023.
 
Entry fees for those ages 19 and over are $30 if registered by August 5, $35 if registering between August 6 and August 22, and $40 on race day.  Ages 18 and younger pay $5 less.  Fees include a t-shirt - guaranteed to all entered by August 7.

Awards will be given to the top three male finishers, to the top three female finishers and to the top finishers in the following age groups – 13-under, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over.
 
There will also be a special “Pass the Pirate” Challenge.  One girl and one boy, members of the school’s cross-country team, will be in the race.  All male runners who beat the male pirate and all females that beat the male pirate will receive special awards.
