When last held in November of ’19, this event had 28 entrants – the majority of which were parents, students or employees of Clinton High School. Proceeds from the race are used to support the school’s Marching Band.
The race takes place entirely on the school’s campus located at 340 Indian Town Road in Clinton.
In 2019, the event only featured a 5K. This year the organizers have added a mile and 10K to the progam.
Harrison Williams led the field finishing in 19:25. Valerie Miller led the women with a 27:29 effort.
Those entering the mile will not receive an official time, but can see their finishing time on the digital clock at the finish line.
In the 5K and 10K entrants have the option of participating as a timed finisher or non-timed. Here is the difference.
Those who register as a timed entrant will receive an official time at the end of the race and will be eligible for awards. Those who register not to be timed will not receive an official time or be considered for any of the postrace awards. However, all finishers will be able to see their finish times on a digital clock at the finish line or can time themselves.
The entry fees are the same for timed and non-timed entrants - $30 for the mile, $35 for the 5K, and $40 for the 10K up to and including race day. T-shirts are included with the entry fee - guaranteed to all those registered by March 2nd. After that date it will be “as available.”
Awards will be given to the top male and female finisher in each race.
Participants and spectators will be required to wear masks expect while running or walking in their events.
