Overview

Originally scheduled for November 18th, this first-time event has been moved to December 9th.  This is a Friday-evening race along the cart paths of the Neuse Country Club, guaranteeing a traffic-free event.  Both the 5K and 10K will begin at 6 pm

The runs will then be followed by a concert at the Clubhouse featuring “The Breakfast Club.”  The band can be previewed at http://thebreakfastclub.com/

Entrants have the option of participating as a timed finisher or non-timed. Here is the difference.

Those who register as a timed entrant will receive an official time at the end of the race and will be eligible for awards.  Those who register not to be timed will not receive an official time or be considered for any of the postrace awards.  However, all finishers will be able to see their finish times on a digital clock at the finish line or can time themselves.

Profits from the event will create college scholarships for students at Clayton High School.

The 5K entry fee is $40 which includes the race entry,  a t-shirt and ticket to the postrace concert and party. The fee for the 10K, which also includes the race entry, t-shirt and party/concert ticket, is $45.  Both fees increase by $5 beginning October 10, and shirts are only guaranteed to those registered by November 18th.  After that date, t-shirts will be given out "as available."

In both races, awards will be given to the top male finisher, to the top female finisher, and to the top finishers in each of the following age groups: (both male and female) 19-under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-over.

One can also purchase extra shirts up to and including October 31.  Tickets can also be purchase just for the concert or extra tickets for $15.

The course will be dark in many places, so we would encourage you to wear a headlamp or carry a flashlight.  Also participants should be aware that the cart path has areas that are broken or damaged so all will need to pay close attention to the path.

This is a Glow Run so we would love to see everyone dress in 80's -inspired/Glow Attire - not mandatory, but fun.  Participants can use Glow Body Paint, Glow Sticks, or anything that glows in the dark - be creative.

The concert will begin at 7 pm in the huge outdoor tent.  "The Breakfast Club" will perform until 10 pm for all participants and for those who purchased an extra ticket(s).

There will be food on site and food trucks as well as Vendors and Sponsors.  There will be 2-4 bars on site as well.
