Overview

Now in its fourth year, the NCVAN 5K Stride for Survivors is a wonderful opportunity to show support for crime victims, survivors, and our communities.    The race is held in downtown Raleigh starting and finishing at the Crime Victim Memorial Garden at 106 East Lane Street.   NCVAN holds events in this area during National Crime Victims' Rights Week each April.  Many people run in honor of a crime victim, and many participate to show support for others who have been victimized.

This beautiful USATF certifiied 5K route extends through historic downtown Raleigh.  For more information on this fine organization, go to their web site at www.nc-van.org.

The entry fees are $20 for NCVAN members and team members and $25 for non-NCVAN members or those not on a team  After April 15th, both fees increase to $30.  All 5K entrants will receive a t-shirt.

This race will offer each entrant in the 5K a choice of being a competitive or recreational entrant. Here is the difference: Competitive entrants are those who wish to be eligible for awards or just want to receive an official time. Recreational entrants are those who don’t care about being eligible for awards and do not want an official time. However, there will be a digital clock at the finish line where each entrant can see his finish time. Awards will be given to the top three males and top three female finishers.

The Bunny Run, a 100-meter dash for children, will be run after the 5K and will be free to all participants.
