Last year a record field of 156 runners and walkers signed up for this event.  Records also fell in the competition as both Dalton Cook (17:14) and Lisa Book (23:28 took the overall titles – both new course marks.

The race is put on by the Ernest Simmons VFW Post 6722 in Lillington. The race starts and finishes at the Harnett County Veteran’s Park located outside the Courthouse.  The street address is 301 West Cornelius Harnett Boulevard.

The USATF certified course will be a mixture of trails and asphalt and is described as “relatively flat.”   Click here to download a course map.

Race day registration and packet pickup opens at 7:30 am on race day, and the race starts at 9 am.
The entry fee is $20, increasing to $25 after October 25^th up to and including race day.  T-shirts are guaranteed to all those registered by October 25.

Awards will be presented to the top three male finishers, to the top three female finishers, and to the top three finishers (both sexes) in each of the following age divisions: 9-under, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60-over.

Proceeds from the race will support Toys for Tots.
