One of the Triad's most popular races, this event drew a crowd of over 480 entries in 2014. Steven Anderson (16:05) and Natalie Lawrence (17:59) were the overall winners. Scott Dvorak (14:29) and Vicki Mitchell (16:40) hold the event records.
Both courses start and finish at the Millis Regional Health Education Center across the street from the High Point Regional Hospital in downtown High Point. The address for your GPS is 600 North Elm Street in High Point.

The fun run, for which no official times are taken, begins at 8:00 a.m. and the 5K starts at 8:30 a.m.
The entry fees are $25 for the 5K and $5 for the one-mile Fun Run. After September 4, both fees increase by $5 and remain so up to and including race day. T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 450 entrants.
In the 5K, awards will be given to the first three male finishers overall, to the first three female finishers overall and to the first three finishers in each of the following age divisions: (both sexes) 12-under, 13- 19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70-over.
Late entrants can register and pre-registered runners can pick up their packets either on race day beginning at 6 am or at Omega Sports in High Point on Friday evening, the 18
th, from 5-8 pm.
The race is named in honor of Warren Rives, Jr,, a hospital board member who died of a heart attack at the age of 41. All proceeds benefit the Heart Strides Scholarship Fund.
