Last year over 1,600 runners and walkers participated in this event. Jordan Zwick took the title in 26:41. Jennifer Zwick won the women’s title in 28:47. Andy Wacker holds the men’s course record of 23:40 while Kristina Vegh holds the women’s course record of 28:08. Both marks were established in 2012.
The race headquarters is Inside-Out Sports located at 2002 Grisdale Lane in Cary. The race starts and finishes across Cary Boulevard from the store.

The morning begins with the 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk at 8:30 am. The featured 8K starts at 9 am, and the 100-yard Kid’s Dash for children ages 7 and under goes off at 10:00 am.
The Inside-Out Sports Turkey Trot is also the 11th event in the thirteen-race Second Empire Grand Prix Series. Runners who participate in these events accumulate points and are awarded money and prizes at an awards banquet held at the Second Empire Restaurant in January.
The entry fee for the 8K is $25 ($30 after November 18), and for the mile, the fees are $10 and $12, respectively. The Kid's Dash is $8 with no late fee.
T-shirts are guaranteed to all thos registered by November 13. After that date, it will be “as available.”
Late entries can register and pre-registered runners can pick up their packets at Inside Out Sports on Wednesday, November 25 from 12 noon - 6 pm and also on race day beginning at 7 am.
In the 8K awards will be presented to the first three males overall, to the first three females overall, to the first three master finishers of each sex, and to the top three finishers in each of the following age divisions – (both sexes) 15-under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-65, 66-69, and 70--over.
All those who finish the mile and the 100-yard dash will receive a participation award at the finish.
