The Cantaloupe 5K kicks off the morning’s activities at the Cantaloupe Festival in Ridgeway. The race starts and finishes at the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department located at 654 US 1 in Ridgeway. The out-and-back course will be USAT&F- certified.

The entry fee is $25 and includes a dri-wick technical shirt to all those entered by July 1. After that date, some shirts will still be available, but not guaranteed.
Participants have a choice of competing as a recreational or competitive entrant. Competitive entrants will be issued a chip, will receive an official time, and be eligible for awards. Recreational entrants will not receive an official time, but they will be able to see their finishing times on a digital clock at the finish line.
Awards will be presented to the first three males overall, to the first three females overall and to the top finishers in each of the following age groups (both sexes) 12-under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70-over.
Late entrants can register and pre-registered entrants can pick up their packets at the fire house on race day between 6:30 and 8:00 am.
Proceeds from the race will benefit the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department and the Ridgeway Historical Association.
Race participants are invited to stay for the Festival which begins at 10 am and features lots food and drinks, arts and craft vendors, historical displays, local entertainment, kiddie rides, and horse back rides.
