Overview

As the name implies, this first-time event will benefit St. Jude Children's Hospital because "The Children are Our Diamonds."

The 5K run is hosted by the Rocky Mount Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and will begin at 2 pm on the campus of Nash County Community College in Rocky Mount. The address for your GPS is 522 North Old Carriage Road.

The start, finish and registration will be in the parking lot of the Continuing Education building.

NOTE: Road construction to Highway 64 will impact travel to the campus.  All of the exits to Highway 64 will be closed.  Use Exits 466 (UNC Health Nash Hospital) or Exit 461 (Wendy's/Smithfield) to access the campus. The NC Department of Transportation will post signs.  See map of closures.

Participants will have the option of receiving an official time or not.  Those who elect to be timed will be listed in the official results and be eligible for awards.  Those who do not wish to be timed will not be listed in the results or be eligible for awards. However, all finishers will be able to see their finish times on a digital clock at the finish.

The entry fee is $30 up to and including April 21 and increasing to $35 after the 21st, up to race day.  The entry fee on race day is $40.

Awards will be given to the top three male finishers overall, to the top three female finishers overall, and to the top three finishers in each of the following age groups (both sexes): 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80-over.
