The 5K is held on a straight out-and-back course starting and finishing at the Cape Fear Christian Academy.  The school is located at 138 Erwin Chapel Road in Erwin.
     Funds from the race will be used to purchase a portable stage that can be used for assemblies in the school gym.
     In 2023 over 100 runners and walkers entered the event.  Lenin Castillo was the overall winner in the 5K.  Yasmeen Castillo was the female champion with a 25:33 effort.
     The event actually consists of three different races.  The featured 5K starts at 10 am, the 1-mile Color Race, begins at 11:30 am, and the 100-yard Dash starts at 12:15 pm.

     The entry fees are as follows: $25 for the 5K, $20 for the 1-Mile Color Run and $5 for the 100-yard Dash.
     There also are entry fees for those who wish to run multiple races.  For $40, one can participate in all three events, and for $35 one can enter the 5K and Mile. If it is the 5K and 100-yard Dash, the fee is $30.  Finally, if the two choices are the mile and 100-yard dash, the fee is $25.
     Except for the 100-yard dash, all those entering the mile and 5K will receive a shirt with their entry fee if entered by April 12.  After that date, shirts will be “as available.”
     Beginning April 13, all fees will increase by $5 (except the 100-yard dash).
