In its debut last year, eight-four entrants signed us for this event. John Callahan led all finishers in 18:25. Alicia Rider led the women with a 23:57 clocking.

All profits go to The Thorne to Rose Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that focuses on bringing awareness and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health illness in black and brown communities. They provide resources to therapists to assist them in becoming culturally competent in serving BIPOC communities through grants and continued education courses. Entrants can enter as either a Runner or Walker. The question on the entry form on their web site asks "Do you plan to run in this 5K Dash?" Only those who answer "Yes" will be included in the official results and be eligible for awards. It really doesn’t matter whether you walk or run in the event. If you wish to get an official time, say "Yes." However, all finishers will be able to see their finish times on a digital cloak at the finish line.
The entry fee is the same for Runners or Walkers - $20, increasing to $25 beginning July 15, up to and including race day. This includes medals to all finishers, branded drawstring totes, and water tumbler/bottle. Foundation T-shirts are available for purchase for $20 and race t-shirts for $30.
Awards will be given to the top three male finishers overall, to the top three female finishers overall and to the top finishers in each of the following age groups (male and female); 12 and under, 15-18, 19-30, 31-50 and 51-over.
Late entrants can register and pre-registered entrants can pick up their packets at 6350 Rogers Rd in Rolesville from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm OR on race day beginning at 7 am.
