Overview

In its debut last year, 58 runners and walkers entered the event.  Mark Mutz led them all across the finish line with a 18:39 clocking.  Diane Gore (18:44) finished second overall and as the first female finisher.

The event is held at the Greenbrier Estates in Garner and is run through their neighborhood.  The race will start and finish at the Smith Elementary School in Raleigh located at 1101 Maxwell Drive.

Entrants have the option of participating as a timed finisher or non-timed. Here is the difference.

Those who register as a timed entrant will receive an official time at the end of the race and will be eligible for awards.  Those who register not to be timed will not receive an official time or be considered for any of the postrace awards.  However, all finishers will be able to see their finish times on a digital clock at the finish line or can time themselves.

The entry fee is $25 up to and including September 30.  The fee will then be $30, up to and including race day.  T-shirts sizes are guaranteed to all entered NLT October 20.

Awards will be given to the top three males overall, to the top three females overall and to the top finishers in each of the following age groups (both sexes): 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70-over.

All profits from the event will go to Garner Area Ministries, which provides financial assistance with medical bills, rent and utility bills to needy families in the Garner area.  Click here to learn more about the fine work they do.
