After being canceled in 2020 because of the pandemic, this race, formerly known as the NC National MPS Society 5K, returns. In 2019, the race was held at Dorothea Dix Park with 86 people registered. Corban Caliguire (18:40) and Katrin Nagel (24:26) took the top spots. Since this was the first year the race had been held in Raleigh, those are the event records for this course.
This year the race will once again be held at the Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh. The address for your GPS is 805 Ruggles Drive.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the National MPS Society in their fight to find cures for MPS and related diseases
The National MPS Society has raised over $5 million through fundraising efforts for research of MPS and ML diseases. Every dollar raised will go to research - EVERY DOLLAR.
Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS) and related diseases are genetic lysosomal storage diseases (LSD) caused by the body's inability to produce specific enzymes. Normally, the body uses enzymes to break down and recycle materials in cells. In individuals with MPS and related diseases, the missing or insufficient enzyme prevents the proper recycling process, resulting in the storage of materials in virtually every cell of the body
