APEX COMMUNITY PARK PUTS A LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS ALLOWED IN THIS EVENT - 600. THAT NUMBER HAS BEEN REACHED AND THUS REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR THIS EVENT.
Last year over 360 runners registered as competitive entrants in this event while an equal number ran the race as recreational entrants. Noah Valyo won the race in 18:31. Renee Weaver won the women’s title in 20:47. Austin Hughes set the course record in 2014 when he ran 16:20. Brenna Liming owns the women’s mark of 18:17 set in 2010.
The race is held at Apex Community Park located at 2200 Laura Duncan Road in Apex.

Entrants in the 5K have a choice of entering as a competitive or recreational entrant. Here is the difference. The competitive entrant will be receive an official time and be eligible for awards. The recreational entrant will not receive an official time nor be eligible for awards but will be able to see his finish time on a digital clock at the finish.
