Come help carry the water! Everyone is invited to bring the water container of choice. Run/walk halfway. Fill it up. And, carry it back. Once across the finish line empty it into a common pool for corporate sponsorship. All proceeds provide clean water projects in India. Did you know 900,000 people a year die in India from drinking unclean water?
In its second year in 2018, over 200 runners and walkers signed up for this event. Christopher Simmons led all finishers in 18:36. Emily Branch was the fastest woman in the field with a 22:26 clocking.
For the past two years, the event has been held at Dorothea Dix in Raleigh, but this year it will be moving to Durham starting and finishing at Delta Electroncs - 5101 Davis Drive for your GPS. The race will be run on the Kit Creek Loop.
The entry fee for the race is $15 through March 23, $20 up to and including August 1, $25 through September 1, $30 from September 2 to September 20, and $40 on race day. Children 12 and under can participate for free. The fee includes a t-shirt, guaranteed to the first 300 PAID registrations.
Awards will be presented to the top three male finishers, to the top three female finishers, and to the top finishers in the following age groups (both sexes); 17-under, 18-29, 30-39, 4049, 50-59 and 60 and older.
