Entrants in the 5K have the option of being timed or not timed.  Those who wish to be timed  will be given an official time for the race, will appear in the results, and will be eligible for awards.  Those who do not wish to be timed will not receive an official time or be eligible for awards, but can either time themselves or see their finishing times on a digital clock at the finish.

The entry fees are the same for either option - $25 until February 22 and then $30 thereafter up to and including race day.  

The fee includes a t-shirt with size guaranteed to all entered by February 22.  After that date shirts will be “as available.”

Awards will be presented to the top three males overall, to the top three females overall, and to the top three finishers in each of the following age groups (both sexes): 12-under, 13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80-over.

Additionally there will be two fun runs for kids after the conclusion of the 5K (around 10 am) – a 100-meter dash for ages 6-under and a 400-meter run for those 6-10 years old.  There is no fee for these races, and parents can sign up their children race day.

Late entrants can register and pre-registered entrants can pick up their packets on Friday, March 8, from 5-7 pm at the Dix Hill  (2105 Umstead Drive).  Late entrants can also register and pre-registered entrants can also pick up their packets on race day at the start/finish area beginning at 7:30 am
