Overview

In its debut last year, over 120 runners and walkers signed up to participate in this event.  Teenagers led the field as Logan Eure, 15, led all finishers in 20:12.  Fourteen-year-old Mary Bloemeke led the women in 22:36.

Once again the race will be held at the WakeMed Soccer Park beginning at 8 am.

The event is being put on by the International Development Futbol, a soccer league in Cary. Inter Development Fútbol (IDF) is a youth soccer development and education club based in Cary, NC, that focuses on player development, incorporating life skills and leadership development through soccer training.   The club is represented by 20 countries among 70 plus players and families and IDF leverages this diversity, along with the organization’s 501(c)(3) status, in its extensive fundraising efforts. The parent-driven IDF Fundraising Committee manages these efforts.  The Committee brainstorms, plans, and executes fund-raising strategies and activities for the benefit of ALL IDF age groups; and tracks, directs, and approves the use of the acquired funds based on the Fundraising prioritized list/goals from IDF. Every dollar raised directly benefits the soccer development and leadership growth of each male or female player enrolled in the IDF Program.

The entry fee for the 5K is $25, and $30 on race day.  The fees do not include a shirt, but one can order a shirt, if registering NLT June 15, for an additional $10.

The entry fee for the 100-yard Kid's Dash is $10, and $15 on race day.  The fees do not include a shirt, but one can order a shirt, if registering NLT June 15, for an additional $10.

Pre-registered runners can pick up their packets and late entrants can register on Thursday, June 28, from 5-7pm at  Omega Sports located at 3025 Market Center Drive in Morrisville.  NOTE:  The mail-in entry form lists the pre-race packet pickup on Friday, the 29th, but that is in error.  It will be on Thursday.

Pre-registered runners can also pick up their packets and late entrants can also register on race day at the WakeMed Soccer Park beginning at 6:30 am

In the 5K awards will be given to the top three male finishers, to the top three female finishers and to the top finishers in each of the following age groups: (both sexes) 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70-over.
