In the past, this was a fall race held in November of each year, but in 2018, the event has been moved to February.
When last held in 2016, Amadeo Iraheta, the defending champion, took overall honors in 20:13. Tinaya Gray was the top female finisher in 29:47. Parker Lee (17:16) and Lara Pantlin (21:00) hold the course records, both set in 2012.
The event is being put on by the Band Boosters of Fuquay-Varina High to raise funds for the school band. The race will start and finish at the High School which is located at 201 Bengal Boulevard in Fuquay-Varina.

The entry fee is $25 for the 5K and $8 for the mile if registered NLT February 15th. After that date, the fees are $30 and $10, respectively, up to and including race day. T-shirts are guaranteed to all those registered by February 15. After that date it will be “as available.”
Pre-registered entrants can pick up their race packets and late entrants can register at the High School on race day beginning at 7:45 am. The first three males and the first three females to finish will receive awards.
